Woodbridge is walking distance to a rich array of Detroit’s local businesses. You can got out to eat, visit a museum or gallery, sample some locally brewed beer, and take care of all your errands without ever having to get into a car.  Below are a few of our favorites; for a full list, check out the University Cultural Center Association’s list.

Live Coal Gallery

5029 Trumbull Street (313) 402-5274

Live Coal Gallery‘s mission is to foster a passion for art, community, and learning by connecting aspiring, emerging, and established artists. The museum will fulfill its mission by collecting, exhibiting, and selling the works of aspiring Detroit high school artists; providing mentoring and exhibition opportunities for emerging and established artists; creating hands-on art experiences for children and families; and, collaborating with businesses, organizations, and schools on community art projects.

Detroit Greencycle

Detroit Greencycle, a business, owned and operated in Corktown, created solely to take your stuff to the recycling center and you compost to local gardens. And we do this in a zero emission way: we bike it there. That’s right. Come rain, shine, sleet, or snow, we will tie  a flatbed to a bike, bike to your house, get your stuff, and then head up Trumbull. We do it for a modest fee. We do it with regularity. And we do it with a smile.”
